Back To School

Yesterday was the first day of my first semester back at college in six years. Six years ago, I was a freshman at the University of Findlay, majoring in occupational therapy. I experienced a severe depressive episode as part of my bipolar disorder and had to medically withdraw toward the end of my first semester. Since then, I've been wanting to go back but never had the time, motivation, or finances to do so, until now.

Now I am attending Owens Community College in Findlay and am attending full-time as an exclusively online student. I am taking four classes; two business classes, a management class, and a computer skills class. So far, after looking through each of the syllabuses, I've learned that there is a lot of reading involved. I'm not surprised, or scared of the reading, and have already completed to reading assignments since yesterday.

I woke up yesterday excited about starting the semester, and even though I am sure this excitement won't last the week, I am still excited today. I've completed several assignments and quizzes and so far have received 100% on everything I've submitted.

Josie is doing well with me having to sit at the computer and do schoolwork, but I do take breaks to play and snuggle with her and take her outside. She uses my computer to watch her shows on YouTube, so I can't always be on Blackboard doing schoolwork, anyway.

So far I am motivated and haven't procrastinated on my schoolwork, but have neglected packing for my upcoming move to rest when Josie takes naps, which is what I am going to go do now.

I just wanted to update all of you. My first day went well as is my second, and though I know it won't be easy, I know I can succeed.
